MORPHEUS
8-track ReBirth groovebox & matrix pattern sequencer for the M-VAVE FM-1
Start & Play
Click Switch on, then tap PLAY. All 8 tracks start jamming together: T1 303 A, T2 303 B, T3 808 Drums, T4 909 Drums, T5 Breaks, T6 FM, T7 Sub, and T8 MIDI.
Twist the Knobs
Drag K1 Cutoff and K2 Res up and down to hear the 303 diode-ladder filter bite and scream. Drag TEMPO to adjust BPM.
Compose & Edit
Compose using panel knobs & silicone keys in REC mode (or enable Screen Edit above to click and draw directly on the LCD grid!).
Record with Keys
Tap REC, then press the 27 silicone keys. The note pitch is punched into the step, and the sequencer automatically steps forward!
Hardware Panel Controls
- MASTER: Output volume.
- SELECT: Scrubs active step (1–32) or transposes pattern with EDIT.
- TEMPO: Sequencer speed (50–240 BPM). With EDIT: Swing (0–75%).
- TRACK: Switch active track (T1..T8: 303A, 303B, D808, D909, BRK, FM, SUB, MIDI).
- K1 (Cutoff): 303 Filter Cutoff frequency / note pitch.
- K2 (Resonance): Squelchy diode-ladder resonance / gate length & tie.
- K3 (Decay): Envelope decay / curve modulation value.
- K4 (Accent): Accent overdrive intensity / pattern length.
- OCT- / OCT+: Scroll grid octave window (C1..B5).
- 16 White Keys: Direct 16-step drum programming (1–16 or 17–32) on 808/909 tracks, and pitched note playing. Integrated LEDs illuminate pressed keys and active steps.
Pro Tips & Acid Tricks
- Acid Slides: When two consecutive steps have notes and the first step has Tie enabled, the pitch glides smoothly (portamento) without re-triggering attack!
- Punchy Accents: Set velocity to 105 or higher on a step. The 303 filter snaps wide open with saturated overdrive!
- Modulation Curves: Press ENV to switch into CURVE view. Click in the grid to draw filter cutoffs or MIDI CC automation.
- Silent MIDI Mode: Press LFO until it says MUTE. The internal audio is silenced so you can sequence hardware gear with zero latency!
